Mr. Miller

Went to Tanjong Pagar yesterday afternoon to meet the dog for the first time.
Not sure if he’s gonna be hostile, temperamental, active or fierce. So as a preventative measure and safety precaution, I was covered from top to toe, just in case ;)

The one who was the most excited was my sis (or my dad, i should say. he’s those typical strong dude on the exterior, with a soft fluffy heart inside). She was like hopping around the estate, too excited and nervous to sit down while I was just nervous to see the dog that would most probably soon be a new member of our family. I felt like shitting so I sat down and buried my face in my hands. (Hahah. The Nervous Emily syndrome). My mother, on the other hand was just being herself, chilling on the park bench and bemused by the sisters’ contrasting behaviors.

When the owner brought down the corgi, my mother’s eyes grew super big. And she mouthed to me, “WHAT?! SO ?” Well, of course, it ain’t a puppy anymore. It’s a full sized 5 year old corgi whose owner is gonna move overseas for a long long time. The owner brought the corgi down on the bench, with my sister on the side, and the curious dog immediately went over to my sister and sniffed her. And just a short while later, he just slumped beside my sister comfortably while he listened quietly to our conversations, with occasional whining when we didn’t give him sufficient attention.

But it will come with greater responsibility, since Miller, the dog’s name which we’re not planning to change (my dream first dog name was Mandung), has a slight heart murmur with sensitive skin on his paws. Otherwise, he is a very obedient, smart and lovable dog. While listening to the owner, the dog gave us inquisitive and deep looks so when he turned to look at me, I just held his gaze. Really adorable fella. :) And he plays fetch too! Apparently he’s real good with frisbee and tennis balls. I remembered seeing two adult corgis playing fetch at the HDB blocks in Tanjong Pagar and I fell in love with this breed. And now I’m finally gonna have a corgi to play fetch with! :D

But the REAL problem now is. This breed is not HDB approved. But the good thing is, he is really obedient, quiet and he doesn’t bite, so my sister thinks that appealing will stand a high chance. But I hope my neighbours will be nice enough and not complain, should there be a pressing need to. I will spoil my neighbours with food and goodies once in awhile ;)

So if all goes well, we’re bringing Miller home next Saturday. Excited! :)
